I would to let everyone know that ICYAA volleyball
has proven to be a very valuable experience and
pre-teaching program for area athletes. The team
competed in both the Carolina Region (NC) and the
Palmetto Region (SC) of USAV Junior Olympic from
December through April.
17-5 Match Record, 37-13 Sets Record
7 Second Place finishes
3 First Place Finished
Finished 5th out of 16 teams at the Hi Neighbor
Tournament in Asheville
3rd Place 1st Flight, Big South National Qualifier,
Atlanta Ga (117 courts, 896 teams, 9800 athletes) in
MarchFinished #2 in the Carolina Region USAV. The
team started out in the Silver Division and was
moved into the Gold Division after only a few
tournaments.
At the end of the season, they finished FIRST in
points and SECOND in the state/regional tournament.
Doing so, qualified them to represent NC in the 13
and under division of the national championship at
the World Congress Center in Atlanta, Ga. June
30-July 02.
This is a MAJOR success for the team since over 50%
of the athletes are under age and will be
considerably younger than any team at the national
event.
